It’s the moment of truth for innocent mum Anna….gulp
After a very tense week on trial, next week the jury reach their verdict and decide whether poor mum Anna, will be putting her pinny back on and resuming bacon-butty making duties at Roys Rolls or heading straight for a lengthy stint at her Maj’s pleasure.
So far we’ve seen evil Phelan stitch her up at every possible turn and although there have been glimmers of hope, (Seb showing up and giving his version of events in court), next week’s courtroom action is awash with frustration for Gary’s mum.
Having been charged with the attempted murder of young apprentice Seb, accused of shunting him from a ladder, the jury have been listening intently while triple-murderer Phelan, plays a blinder in coolness.
And sadly things start to go badly wrong for Anna next week when lovely Roy takes to the stand.
Anna’s bumbling café boss gives her a glowing character reference, (so far so good), but later, and under tough questioning from the prosecution, is forced to admit that he did indeed witness a fiery altercation in which Anna gave Seb a slap around the face. Uh oh.
But there’s worse to come when Tim is called to the stand. The window cleaner is determined to do everything he can to prove Anna’s innocence but soon finds himself breaking into a sweaty sheen under his smart suit, when the prosecution dig up the fact that he and Gary piled pressure on Seb to change his story and there’s CCTV footage from the cab office to prove it. YIKES! Get out of that one Tim!
Poor Anna is aghast as her case starts to crumble faster than a badly made cookie.
As the trial draws to a close and the judge sums up the complicated case, the jury don’t hang about in making their verdict.
Is Anna about to be carted off to munch on prison food for the forseeable or will justice be done?
Meanwhile Phelan is surprised when his daughter Nicola suddenly shows up on the cobbles and begs him to forgive her for ever doubting him. Hmm. Odd...why the sudden U-Turn? Is Nicola, who's pregnant with Gary's child, really prepared to bury the hatchet or has she got a hidden agenda.?
And what will Phelan make of his daughter's sudden change of heart? Let's not forget he's a man who DESPISES disloyalty!
What do you think will happen to Anna and why do you think Nicola wants to make up with her dad? Let us know on Facebook or Twitter
