Anna legs it from hospital when no-one is watching!......
Surely things can’t get much worse for Anna Windass?….oh yes they can!
With the poor mum currently banged up behind bars for a crime she didn’t commit, and believing her son Gary to be dead, next week she suddenly collapses in prison…..eeek!
Anna is taken to hospital where she begins to recover, however just as she’s on the mend, her other half, Kevin bowls in not bearing grapes or flowers but to tell her he’s dumping her as he needs to focus on his son Jack. Seriously! Talk about hitting someone when they’re down….very considerate of you Kev!
Not surprisingly Anna is a woman at breaking point…infact Anna was a woman at breaking point a few weeks ago but as we all know she’s a fiery one and she’s not giving up just yet.
When the prison officer who’s keeping a beady eye on her in hospital needs to leave the room, quick as flash Anna sees an opportunity to escape. She grabs a coat that's been left lying about and draping it round her, hurries out of the hospital!
“The security isn’t very good”, says Debbie Rush who plays the tortured mum….no you’re right Debbie, we’d say the security is non-existent! “Ultimately she thinks that Phelan has won so it’s fight or flight and she chooses flight when she gets the chance.”
As Anna rushes outside she takes refuge in the bushes of that famous Corrie playing field, the Red Rec, and from her hiding place later sees Craig who’s out doing a spot of dog-walking. Will she alert Craig and will he help her out?
As news starts swirling round the cobbles of Anna’s dramatic escape, her daughter Faye is stunned, but when she catches Phelan’s smirk, the schoolgirl suddenly realises the evil builder has framed her mum and was him who put her behind bars.
What will Faye do next and can she convince everyone, including her boyfriend Seb, just what the scheming Scouser has been up to?
Meanwhile, a terrified Anna finds refuge in a new hiding place but how long can she stay hidden for and is Phelan now on a mission to get her!!?
With actress Debbie set to leave the soap very soon….we don’t fancy Anna’s chances of survival. If the prison officers don’t get her first….the brutal builder will! Nooooo
