Sarah Platt’s budding romance with Gary Windass looks set to go up in flames as she makes an infuriating discovery about his role in Bethany’s continued use of diet pills.
Sarah makes the shock find after she thought the teenager’s bullying torment was over.
Gary had swooped in to help Bethany with a fitness plan at the gym, resulting in Sarah looking twice at the builder and taking him for a drink at The Rovers.
But despite her tender feelings, is the worried mum about to end their relationship before it even begins?
Meanwhile, actress Sue Cleaver teased that Eileen Grimshaw will become suspicious of Vinny and his role in the building project.
She revealed: "It isn’t going to end well is it but I believe that there is some way to go with this storyline, we should probably fear for Eileen - I get lots of people in the street warning me off!
"I love working with Connor [McIntyre] so I hope there is lots more to come."
Son Todd fears his mum has gotten in over her head but his warnings about Phelan’s true colours have fallen on deaf ears.
Sue said: "She is totally in love with him and love is definitely blind in Eileen’s case.
"It is her dream come true, she has never had a man treat her like this before. He is a real man and he makes her feel wanted.
"She is usually the one in control who looks after everyone else and he is now looking out for her. He fights battles for her with people like Sean and Todd and doesn’t let them walk all over her, she doesn’t know he is doing this out of self preservation."
Sue added: "She does know only too well that Todd has reservations about Phelan but she doesn’t think Todd has any right to question her choice in men."
Coronation Street continues on ITV at 7.30pm.
