There’s shock all round when Phelan’s daughter Nicola discovers she’s pregnant. Grandpa Pat? Hmm...we can't quite picture it!

Following their boozy one night-stand, Nicola is stunned to realise she’s expecting Gary Windass’s baby. Gulp.

Whoops. You can pretty much guarantee in Soapland that if someone has a one night stand with someone they’re most definitely not supposed to be with, chances are there'll soon be a baby on the way. Those soap ladies and gents sure are fertile!

Next week it’s Nicola who discovers she’s in the family way after her night of passion with Gary Windass when the naughty couple got carried away and shared more than just a few drinks on the sofa.

Needless to say when Nicola breaks the news to her dad Phelan, he’s horrified! A Windass baby is like a punch in the stomach, let’s not forget all his shady secrets, like the time he forced Gary’s mum Anna to have sex with him for cash.

Meanwhile Nicola decides not to break the news to Gary just yet. Or maybe ever. Probably because he’s got a very loyal girlfriend - hello Sarah! – who would be flippin’ raging if she were to get an inkling of his recent infidelity.

What will Nicola decide to do? Is she going to keep the baby? And what would happen should she find out just what her dad’s tangled, and very sinister, history with the Windass family is?
