It looks like jailbird Maria Connor could soon be heading back to Coronation Street. And apparently she'll be sporting a rather fetching electronic tag on her ankle.

The report say that Maria (Samia Longchambon) will be released shortly because of her good behaviour inside. Probably doing the other inmates' hair.

Maria, who makes an appearance next week when Aidan Connor and Eva Price take her son Liam to visit her in prison, was sentenced to 12 months in prison for marrying her friend Pablo so he could stay in the country.

Her sham marriage was uncovered when scheming Caz Hammond attempted to frame Maria for murder.

Maria had been having an affair with Aidan (Shayne Ward) before she was locked up. Will they continue their romance when she is free? He did declare his love for Maria before she was sent down.

Or will Aidan's girlfriend, Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) find out about their betrayal?
