Katherine Kelly - aka Corrie's Becky MacDonald - won’t be returning for Kylie's funeral

Now new producer Kate Oates, who is keen to make a massive impact on the cobbles, is said to be killing off ANOTHER soap legend.

She is said to be working with director Tony Prescott – who was in charge of the Corrie live episode – on a huge stunt, rumoured to be a massive fire explosion, which will be aired later in the year.

Who could forget the Corrie blaze of 2010?

Speaking to The Sun, an insider revealed that the stunt is "going to be carnage".

"This is going to be upthere with some of the best scenes in Corrie history. Characters are going to be crawling through flames to escape and there's talk of killing at least one."

The source then added: "Plans being put together are huge and Kate bringing in Tony shows that it's going to be far from straightforward.

"Tony is considered one of the big guns in directing because he's great with complicated and intense storylines."
