Coronation Street fans noticed a popular character's surprise return to the cast on Monday (8th June) during Yasmeen Nazir's court scenes. Eagle eyed viewers noticed none other than Paula Martin appear in the, after the character has been absent from the show for months.
Paula, played by Stirling Gallacher, appeared alongside Imran Habeeb, who she worked with at the solicitors' firm on the Street. The pair were present to support Yasmeen as she entered her plea over husband Geoff Metcalfe's attack.
While some fans took to Twitter to share their disbelief, with one user writing, "Okay have I missed something... is Paula yasmeen’s lawyer/barrister or is she Geoff's?", others were simply overjoyed by the surprise return, with another user writing, "Paula representing Yasmin .....brilliant x".
It as announced in February that the star would be taking a small break from the show, so fans were over the moon to see the character re-appear.
