Loose Women presenter Coleen Nolan revealed in March that her sister Linda had been diagnosed with incurable secondary breast cancer.
And now Linda, 58, is bravely speaking about her experiences in a series of video diaries being aired all this week on the ITV daytime show.
In 'Linda Nolan's Cancer Diaries', the star will open up about all aspects of her health journey and in the first episode, which was broadcast today, she talked of her fear of dying and her plans for the treatment she will receive.
She said: "I've decided when it comes to the end of my life I would want to be in a hospice.
"If it spread and they said we can give you chemotherapy to give you another six months of life, I've said I won't have it, if it's just for another six months."
She continued: "I don't want my brothers and sisters to have to become my carers. I just want them to come and spend happy times with me at the end of my days."
Watching the emotional video was clearly hard for Coleen who broke down in tears as she discussed hearing of the diagnosis.
She said: "It was just such mixed emotions of devastation and so damn angry. You just get angry."
But Coleen also revealed how they cope as a family. She explained: "We're just strong for each other. We cover a lot of it with humour and sarcasm – it's the way we get through it.
"We don't really discuss each other's rawness, we just try and be strong for each other when we're together."
A new video will be broadcast each day this week.
Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm
