Nothing says Christmas in Soap Land like weddings gone wild (two to choose from this year in both 'Enders and Corrie), secrets being revealed, or a baby being born anywhere but a hospital. When do they have time to cook their sprouts?
EastEndersespecially is infamous for its Christmas showdowns, from Angie and Den Watt’s divorce, to Stacey and Max Brannings’s affair, to the Brannings falling off a roof.
And 2021 is no exception, so without further a (Christmas) do, here’s the five wildest things happening in EastEnders this festive season.
What's happening in EastEnders this Christmas?
EastEnders Christmas spoilers 2021
Rocky's reveal
Is Sonia Fowler about to get the Daddy of all shocks? Will Kathy Beale wish she'd stayed dead? The timebomb that is Rocky Cotton has been ticking so loudly we can barely hear Tracey behind the bar's lines. And nothing says timebomb like an EastEnders Christmas. An uninvited guest arrives to make the con-man's life even more difficult than it is already (if that's possible).
Whitney's evidence
It's the moment we have all been waiting for, Whitney Dean FINALLY makes the discovery that Gray Atkins killed former wife Chantelle Atkins, not to mention Tina Carter (no, she wasn't on that bus) and Kush Kazemi (RIP). With the evidence, can she bring down soap's biggest baddie?
Janine's Christmas crush
Janine Butcher in a Mrs Claus outfit (well, why wouldn't she be?) only wants one thing under her tree this year - not a conscience, but Mick Carter. The couple have been seen growing closer over the last few weeks and it seems Janine plans to make it permanent. With his wife Linda Carter away, could Mick be tempted?
Kat's jealousy intensifies
What happens when a cat is threatened? The claws come out. And that goes for Kat Slater too (though her's are probably painted) when her jealously intensifies over boyfriend Phil Mitchell and ex-wife Sharon Watts. Stand back people.
Gray and Chelsea's wedding
Nothing says Christmas day in EastEnders like a wedding (nobody is that inconsiderate in real life) and Chelsea Fox is about to marry a killer. But with Whitney now on his tail can she convince the bride to be not to make the biggest mistake of her life? (We blooming hope so).

Hope for Fiz and Tyrone
Tyrone Dobbs is over the moon when ex-wife Fiz Brown (who he cheated on, don't forget) agrees to spend Christmas with him as one big happy family – even if that means her boyfriend Phill Whittaker is there too. Also there's a poorly pigeon (would it be Corrie if there wasn't?). Could Fiz and Tyrone share a secret kiss under the mistletoe? They are destined to be together, admit it.
Emma and Curtis' wedding
Everything goes without a hitch in soap Christmas weddings right? Wrong. Is it even Christmas if someone isn't late or Tracy Barlow isn't hitting a bride with a shoe? And Emma Brooker's wedding is anything but plain sailing. While the bride isn't even sure she's doing the right thing, not-really-dying groom Curtis Delamere is nowhere to be found. Will they make it down the aisle?
Abi's revenge
Abi Webster has been through more than the rest of us put together. She lost her son Seb Franklin in the worst possible way, right before falling down a sink hole. This Christmas she sets her sights on Kelly Neelan who she still blames for Seb's death. Vowing to put an end to her once and for all...

Kim's evil plan
Nobody should mess with Kim Tate. She's been to prison, she's been dead, she's kissed Frank Tate. And Will Taylor should know that better than anyone, but he still can't keep away. Jealous of his relationship with Bernice Blackstock, Kim has a plan...Be afraid Will, be very afraid.
Sam and Lydia
Everybody's favourite farm living, dirty coat wearing, games keeper Sam Dingle is trying everything this Christmas to win back wife Lydia Dingle. The couple split after Lydia intervened to help Liv Flaherty, who had hit both rock bottom and the bottle. Will the couple finally get back together in time for turkey? They better had.
Manpreet in danger
The walls are closing in on murdering Mina (trademark) Julta, after she killed Leanna Cavanagh and Andrea Tate – don't forget she locked a dog in the boot too, the monster. With her sister Manpreet Sharma slowly realising her evil ways, will Mina be willing to kill her own family to keep her secret? Because nothing says Christmas like murder.
In other soap news...
EastEnders legend Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale, has thrown doubt on his return to the show. The star took a break from the square to star in the play Looking Good Dead as well as appearing in I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
Speaking to his camp mates he said, “I just had another opportunity. This play came up, I just fancied doing something different. The way the storyline is, they needed me to take a break. Yeah...the break’s just got longer.”
Ian Beale left the Square in January, after discovering wife Sharon had been poisoning him due to his involvement in her son Denny’s death. But actor Adam mentioned that he doesn’t necessarily plan to return when the play finishes next spring.
When fellow campmate Kadeena Cox asked if he'd ever consider leaving the soap to star in movies, Adam answered, "I'm available as of April."
