EastEnders fans were left heartbroken as they watched the long-time Square resident, Abi Branning, pass away.
Abi, played by actress Lorna Fitzgerald, has been a Walford favourite since 2006 and has been involved in her fair share of drama - from the Lucy Beale murder mystery to her illicit affair with her sister's boyfriend, Steven Beale.
But even viewers who didn't particularly warm to Max Branning's youngest daughter were left sobbing after the emotional scenes last night.
During the episode, soap fans watched as the doctor explained to Max and Lauren what would happen when they finally turned her life support machine off.
He explained: “Very gently we’ll withdraw the support, Abi’s heart will slowly stop and she will pass.”
After this, Max asked if it would be possible to end her life at 8.32pm, which was also the time she was born.
At that exact time, the Vic went silent as the punters all paid their respect to Abi as she passed away, and fans were absolutely devastated.
One Twitter user wrote: "33 years old and #Eastenders still has the ability to make me sob like a baby...”
Another added: "F***ing hell @bbceastenders - this is intense. I'm just glad there's nobody here to see me crying."
But while the nation sobbed at the dramatic, heartbreaking scenes, eagled eyed viewers were quick to spot a huge blunder.
Abi's mum, Tanya, had returned to the Square when she found out that her daughters had been involved in an accident over Christmas - although viewers were unsure about how long she was there for as she didn't appear to get much time on-screen.
But when Abi died, Tanya was there by her side.
However, fans were quick to point out that Tanya wasn't actually there when the decision was made to turn Abi's life support machine off.
Did you spot this moment during the episode?
One thing everyone can agree on, however, is just how tragic the episode was...
