Ferne McCann broke up with Arthur Collins shortly after the acid attack

Former TOWIE star Ferne McCann has denied rumours that she's been visiting her ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins in prison.

Last year Arthur, who is a dad to two-month-old Sunday, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for a nightclub acid attack. The former TOWIE star later released a statement and said: "Ferne's thoughts are of course with the innocent people caught up in the events at Mangle last April.

"No one should ever be faced with violence on a night out. Having given birth days ago, Ferne is focusing on being the best mother she can be."

It went on to say: "She long ago accepted that she would be doing this alone and is determined to provide the best possible future for her daughter."

Ferne then admitted that she had taken baby Sunday to visit her dad in prison, she told the Sunday People: "I went to see Arthur and I took Sunday with me. This was because I am very angry about what has happened and I needed to communicate that and wanted to hear what Arthur had to say.

"I thought it was important that Arthur see Sunday and see exactly what his actions have led to him missing out on. It was a difficult decision to take Sunday into that environment but I felt I needed to confront him about a number of things, which I have now done."

It has since come to light, that the TOWIE stars ex-boyfriend has had his jail sentence extended after he was caught smuggling a phone into prison. His lawyer then defended him and said: "The only reason Mr Collins had that phone was to contact, privately, his girlfriend and friends and family.

"His girlfriend at the time was heavily pregnant with his first child."

According to The Mirror, the barrister added: "That child is now two months old and occasionally visits him with its mother and his sister."

Reports then surfaced that Ferne had been visiting her ex however the mum-of-one has now slammed reports and said: "There's a constant slew of false stories written about me.

"The story today says that I have been visiting Sunday's father in prison. As I have already made clear I visited him once and I have not been to see him since."

She continued: "I have repeatedly made clear that I have not been back to see him in response to the press asking me but this has been ignored.

"Again and for absolute clarity, I do not in anyway condone the actions that took place in Mangle in April 2017. Nobody should be faced with violence on a night out and the victims have my fullest sympathy."
