There’s still two weeks left to go until Love Island comes to an end, but one of the most memorable moments of the series so far was when a tearful Uma Jammeh quit the show after Wil Anderson was dumped from the villa.

Despite his questionable antics in Casa Amor, Uma decided that she didn’t want to be in the villa without Wil and they’re now going from strength to strength IRL after becoming official boyfriend and girlfriend.

Now that they’re back in the UK, we had to get them down to Closer HQ to chat all things Love Island 2024. As expected, the pair spilled some serious behind the scenes tea, even lifting the lid on a wild Maya Jama scene that never made it to our screens.

While chatting about the Casa Amor recoupling, Uma brought up the awkward moment bombshell Diamanté Laiva laughed just as she was learning all about what Wil had been doing with Lucy Graybill behind her back.

“I think she was saying that she wasn’t laughing at me at the fire pit,” Uma said. “But it was a bit ironic the timing that she laughed.”

She then revealed that even Maya got involved, which viewers didn’t get to see.

“They didn’t show Maya. Maya was like, ‘What was funny?’ I was like, ‘Slay!’,” Uma explained.

Gushing over the iconic host, Uma continued, “Oh my god, Maya is amazing. She’s such a queen. I think we’re very similar in some senses. We’ve got similar birthdays and both have these husky voices. We were saying that last night actually, on Aftersun.”

However, she admitted that the Islanders don’t really get to spend much time with Maya in the villa, telling us, “She’s amazing, but you don’t really get to speak to her when she comes in, it’s very brief that she’ll be in for.”

Wil added, “She’s there to do a job, do you know what I mean? We need to play by the rules as well.”
