After becoming a mum in April to a little girl, Lucia, Shaughna Phillips is fully embracing her new role.
Calling motherhood “the best”, the former Love Island star tells Closer, “She is my best friend – she doesn’t really have a say in it. I love her so much. I actually think she’s a poser and that she is made for this life. Way more than I am!”
The 29-year-old revealed earlier this year that her daughter’s father, real estate agent Billy Webb, “isn’t around” following charges for drug offences.
And she tells Closer what she wishes someone had told her about motherhood. “It can be quite lonely,” Shaughna confesses. “When you’re up with the baby, you’re so exhausted… like the other night, she woke up and was looking at me – and she made me cry!”
The Love Island 2020 star was dealt a huge blow in March this year when her boyfriend, Billy Webb, was arrested and charged with drug offences following a police raid.
Shaughna, who was coupled up with Callum Jones during the sixth season in 2020, had mostly kept her boyfriend under wraps – only being photographed with him for the first time three weeks ago before his arrest.
If convicted, estate agent Billy could face up to 16 years in prison.
An insider told Closer at the time, “Shaughna had absolutely no knowledge of any activity involving the allegations against Billy.
“Despite being in a long-term relationship, Shaughna has no links with the address in question that was involved in the raid, and will be openly assisting the police with their enquiries.”
earlier in the year, Shaughna jetted to LA with Billy to celebrate ahead of his 30th birthday – a getaway which also doubled as a babymoon for the parents-to-be.
Announcing her pregnancy to fans in October, Shaughna, who has known Billy since they were teenagers before starting a relationship with him in 2020, revealed her hopes that the pair would also get married in a low-key ceremony.
She revealed, “I actually said to him the other day, ‘I’m so glad that you have to marry me now that we’re having a baby’. But I definitely feel like a baby is way more of a commitment, though.”
