Love Island runners-up Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies pretty much had a fairytale journey in the villa after coupling up on day five, but their love story wasn’t without a few bumps in the road.
As well as the drama over Casa Amor bombshell Ellie Jackson, who knew Ciaran before the show, one of the Love Island 2024 OGs’ biggest arguments came after Ciaran ignored Nicole in a game of eggy boff. Y’know, the game that Ronnie Vint introduced to the other Islanders which basically just involved the boys ignoring the girls.
It all kicked off when Ciaran refused to acknowledge Nicole as he didn’t want to lose the game, with some viewers claiming that Nicole overreacted. However, she’s finally revealed what really led to the big row in an exclusive interview.
Chatting to Closer alongside Ciaran, Nicole admitted that the reason she was so fuming is because the girls had been locked in the dressing room for hours. Sorry, WHAT?
Nicole explained, “Let me just start with this eggy boff game. There was a thunderstorm that night, all us girls were locked in the dressing room for seven hours. I don’t know if anyone’s come out and said this yet. Seven long hours. No phones, just literally lying on the dressing room floor.
“[The boys] all had the bedroom and they all played football with a sock. So seven hours, we were all so riled up that we were there, then when the thunderstorm stopped we went out and got eggy boffed by all the boys. I was thinking, ‘so, not only have we spent seven hours in the dressing room, I go out and I’m getting blanked by everyone.’”
Addressing Ciaran directly, she added, “It wouldn’t have been like that if we weren’t locked away, would it?”
He replied, “Yeah, the main problem was all the girls are in this changing room now and honestly, that changing room is so grubby as well. The girls never cleaned it. So, there all locked in there, they’re lying on the floor, they’re in a foul mood. However, us boys were doing silly games and then when we were allowed out then because the thunderstorm’s gone, all the girls were miserable but all the boys are on a high.
“We think that every little thing that happened is just a joke, but the girls take it the other way. Unfortunately, it was Nicole that had to walk over to us boys first. I would just like to clear things up and say I actually didn’t lose that game, Ronnie did because Ronnie spoke to Nicole first.”
Thankfully Nicole and Ciaran managed to move past their eggy boff bust-up and they made it all the way to the final, where they were just pipped to the post by winners Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan.
