Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague has been sharing her motherhood journey and new life with baby daughter Bambi on YouTube and social media with her millions of followers.

But last week Molly-Mae – who welcomed Bambi in January with boyfriend of four years Tommy Fury, 23 – broke down in tears while discussing some of the side effects of childbirth. She revealed that she experienced severe constipation for nine days after her daughter was born, describing it as “harder than my labour”.

Bravely opening up about the reality of life as a new mum, she added, “At one point in the shower with [sister] Zoe stood outside, I was crouching down in the shower that constipated that I was screaming for her to call me an ambulance.” The former Love Island runner-up said she lost all ability to push and was “messed up down there”.

Molly’s emotional outpouring came in the same week that it emerged that Tommy’s older brother, heavyweight boxing legend Tyson Fury, 34, and his wife Paris, 32, are expecting their seventh baby. They shared a photo on Tyson’s Instagram story with the caption, “I get to do date night with my beautiful pregnant wife. God is great. What a woman. 7th incoming. Fantastic news to cheer me up.”

Tommy has also spoken in the past about wanting lots of kids and previously said, “I want four kids but it’s Molly’s body. I’m a big family man and come from a big family too and it’s something we talk about a lot.”

However, insiders say that Molly, 23, is finding first-time parenting more full-on than expected and isn’t planning on following in Paris’ footsteps any time soon.

A source says, “Life has totally turned upside down for Molly since welcoming Bambi and, while it’s the most happiness and love she’s ever felt in her life, becoming a mum is also the hardest thing she’s ever done.

“Of course Molly’s over the moon for Tyson and Paris, but she’s really hoping that there’s no expectation on her to have a huge family like them. She’s still feeling her way through these early days and, at the moment, she can’t even begin to think about adding to her family, it would be too much pressure for her.

“Having said that, she’s loving being in her baby bubble and is really enjoying it. She definitely wants a sibling for Bambi at some point, but she’s thinking two or three at the very most. She’s slightly worried Tyson and Paris have set the bar for this big family vibe which Tommy will want and while that’s great for them, it’s not something Molly wants.”

Molly-Mae and Tommy met on Love Island in 2019 and ended up in second place. Since then, they’ve gone from strength to strength, buying their £4m dream home last year and welcoming their first child together – and the couple have shared their journey with fans along the way.

Molly’s career has also skyrocketed – she now has more than 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube, she was made creative director of PrettyLittleThing in August 2021 and released her memoir, Becoming Molly-Mae, in June last year – and she’s raking in millions as a result.

However, in another emotional confession, the star admitted she’s struggling to think about work as she settles into her new routine. She said, “My brain is jumbled and I don’t feel like myself. It’s not that I need more time to come back. I want it more than anything but maybe I’ve left it too long and I have so much to say that I feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin.”

And sources add that while she absolutely loves being a mum, she’s conscious that she wants to achieve lots more in her career too. The insider adds, “Molly’s a career girl and wants to be a working mum and have a good balance between the two, which she wouldn’t be able to do with lots of children.

“Right now, Tommy is completely over the moon with Bambi and is so incredibly proud of Molly that he’s not thinking abut the future. But Molly is starting to worry that there might be an expectation for a huge family down the line – and she’s not sure she could cope.”
