The news that Love Island stars Millie Court and Liam Reardon had done the unthinkable – at least in Love Island land – and got back together this year after splitting in 2022 is probably going to go down as one of the worst kept secrets of 2023.
It was SO obvious that the secrecy and red herrings started to verge on iconic, oh, and don't get us started on them officially announcing their reconciliation at a public appearance for McDonald's this summer.
Wow, that's easily the most Closer online paragraph we've written all December.
Anyway, after dodging the press and an onslaught of fan curiosity for months and months, the Love Island 2021 winners are officially back together and now everything's out in the open, of course, the content is wholesome. And we mean like wedding day wholesome...
Don't get too excited, as far as we're aware these painfully attractive and loved-up Love Island legends aren't engaged yet (although come the day, they'll probably put us all through another speculation assault course before finally announce anything), but they did attend one of Liam's bestie's special day earlier this month, and their snaps together are actually perfect. PERFECT.
Sharing an array of wedding pics and vids on his Instagram grid – including a video of Liam and Millie sexy dancing to Tom Jones' Sex Bomb that's giving mum and dad – Liam wrote, "A week ago today I had the honour of being groomsman to my very good friend as he tied the knot to his lovely wife. Such a wonderful & special day for us all to be a part of. Christie you looked beautiful and so did all your bridesmaids.
"Lloyd you you looked the most handsome I’ve ever seen you, your groomsmen didn’t look too bad either 🤪.
"So proud of you bro, one of the strongest guys I’ve ever met. I hope you’re both having the best honeymoon
Mr & Mrs Nolan ❤️."
Millie commented, "The best day and night 💕💕💕."
Rumours about Millie and Liam's reconciliation began earlier this year when Millie revealed, "There's been a lot of rumours and a lot in the press, I am going to confirm that I am dating someone but I'm not ready to tell you guys yet.
"I don't want people involved in my personal relationship. It ruined things. That was a big part of why my last relationship ended but it's been a while since then.
"This next chapter, I'm going to be keeping it a secret for a little bit to see how it goes. Obviously, in the end I will tell you guys because I'm sure we'll get pictured together going out but that's all I'm going to say for now."
That day came about in August 2023 and the pair's relationship hard launch was hard launching. The couple decided to hard announce that they were back together at an event to celebrate the return of McDonald's Monopoly in central London, which could not be more Love Island influencer if it tried.
At the event, the couple revealed all on their reconciliation, with Millie explaining, "Our first date when we were getting back together was at Southend.
"I was like, 'You go in the restaurant first and get a table and I'll come in five minutes later. You tell me where you are and I'll sneak past reception.'"
It was giving Mr and Mrs Smith.
"So dramatic," she said, turning to Liam as she added, "I had a hat, sunglasses, fake names... We had a lot of fun didn't we?"
"We went to Go Ape, which was so fun," Liam continued, "It was quite cloudy though so hardly anyone was in our group."
As for why they kept their reunion under wraps, Liam explained, "[It's] just more personal. People are invested as well.
"We weren't ready to let people know. Some people say 'no one cares anyway' but some do."
