Maura Higgins is ready to meet someone new, and Closer can reveal that she’s calling on her A-list besties to play Cupid. Love Island star Maura, 34, was partying with Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber recently at Coachella and a source tells us that, ‘Maura is definitely on a man hunt right now and wants to be fixed up with someone, preferably famous – she's setting her hopes on Hollywood actors and US sports stars.’
And she’s hoping that having new BFFs like Kendall could be the key to bagging a famous American boyfriend, said to ideally be someone like Top Gun: Maverick heartthrob, Glen Powell. Our source says, ‘With her connections, she stands a good change of bagging someone famous. She’s got her eye on a few people – she would love a chance to get to know Glen. She thinks he’s absolutely gorgeous and he is the toast of Hollywood right now.’
As well as an American romance, Maura is hoping that her U.S connections will also help her build a career there. Our insider says, ‘She has absolutely got her eyes on global superstardom and really sees the U.S as a way to cement her status. She’s been working really hard over the past few years having meeting with talent agencies in L.A. It’s already paid off for her as she has worked on Love Island USA as the social media presenter.’
Kendall and Hailey aren’t the only stars Maura has been rubbing shoulders with. She recently had lunch with Margot Robbie, and our source tells us, ‘Margot is such a huge fan of Love Island - Maura found it insane for this A-list Hollywood star to be fangirling over her. They’re definitely still in touch and Margot has a lot of advice to give.’
Meanwhile, Maura is said to be keen to move on overseas following the recent scandal with McFly’s Danny Jones, when the pair apparently shared a kiss at the Brits after-party in March. While Maura hasn’t addressed it, Danny publicly apologised to his wife, Georgia Horsley, and son, Cooper.
Our source says, ‘Maura really doesn’t want her reputation tarnished right now. Her career means everything to her, and she’s been working around the clock, with a goal to crack America. She’s desperate to brush this whole drama with Danny under the carpet. She is fully ready for a new romance and she’s hoping that her famous pals can make it happen for her as soon as possible.’
