It was a sad day in Love Island history when Josh Oyinsan and Mimii Ngulube called it a day on the short but sweet romance.

The duo made history when they were crowned the fist black couple to take home the £50k and win the dating show, however, just a few weeks after they left the villa (£50,000 richer might we add) Josh and Mimii announced they were no more.

Like the demure and mindful duo they are Mimii and Josh kept schtum about the reason why they split and unlike some other Love Island couples – ahem Toby Aromolan and Georgia Steel ahem – they kept the passive aggressive comments and shade to a minimum.

Now Josh has FINALLY opened up about the reason behind his split from Mimii and in classic Josh fashion he kept it respectful.

'Mimii is just as busy as I am,' he admitted, 'I'm sure she's doing well whatever she is doing.'

'I wish her the best and I hope she continues to thrive,' he told The Sun during a red carpet chat at The Pride of Britain awards. 'Right now I'm single and as single as can be', he added.

There are just two couples still going strong from the final four; Welsh babes Ciaran Davies and Nicole Samuel have already moved in together and Jess Spencer and Ayo Odukoya are still loved up.

'I'm not opposed against love,' Josh went on. 'If love comes then I'll welcome it with open arms... but yeah, my main focus right now is my career.'
