The Love Island 2023 Casa Amor recoupling was a brutal one, wasn’t it?
From Olivia Hawkins branding Kai Fagan ‘fake’, to Jessie Wynter finding out about Will Young snogging Layla Al-Momani, there were jaw-dropping moments left, right and centre.
One of the most shocking decisions came when Casey O’Gorman chose to remain loyal to Claudia Fogarty (not that it lasted long, as we now know) despite spending four days getting to know, sharing a bed with, and being straddled by Cynthia Otseh-Taiwo.
Not only did Cynthia burst into tears when Casey made his decision, but there was also a war of words when her bestie Layla accused Claudia of laughing at the moment.
Although it seems Cynthia and Claudia smoothed things over when they met up the next day, we don’t have high hopes for them being friends outside the villa if Cynthia’s comments are anything to go by.
Discussing where she stands with Claudia on Closer’s Love Island Secrets, Cynthia said, “I didn’t accept the apology, so… I just said, ‘Okay, let’s keep it pushing.’”
As for whether she’ll stay in touch with Casey, Cynthia admitted it was “TBC” – that’s ‘to be confirmed’, of course.
“I don’t know man, I’ve always said I don’t care if you talk about me as long as it’s the truth. Even if I’ve said something bad, at least you’re recounting the truth. Don’t lie on my name, don’t downplay it, nothing.
“So, for me, I don’t know. It depends what comes out of his mouth after he comes out.”
Even Layla admitted she’s unsure about staying friends with Casey due to his treatment of Cynthia, despite already agreeing to meet up with him in the outside world.
“Casey and I, we were friends from the beginning and we’re from the same area, we’ve got mutual friends. So, we were saying we’ll definitely hang out at our local pub when we’re both back, but now I don’t know. I just don’t know where that will end up,” she explained.
