She had a good reason to do so...
Geordie girl Amber Gill was crowned the Queen of the Love Island villa last month, when she won the popular show alongside Irish hunk Greg O'Shea, but it turns out the 22-year-old was actually asked to appear on the 2018 series.
Answering fan's questions on her Instagram Story, Amber revealed she didn't apply for the show, she was instead approached on social media.
She told fans: "I didn’t actually apply to go in the villa, I got asked by Instagram.
"I did actually get asked the year before but I had a boyfriend – but let’s not talk about it."
Of course, it was reported last week that only six of this year's 36 Islanders actually went through the application process and they include Joe Garratt, Ovie Soko and Amy Hart.
Meanwhile, after leaving the villa with a share of £50,000, things are getting better and better for Amber.
Not only has she reportedly signed up to appear on the 2020 series of Dancing On Ice, she's also set to feature as a guest panellist on ITV's Loose Women, just like her Love Island co-star Amy Hart.

To use the Love Island phrase, all my eggs are in Amber's basket right now, I'm only looking at her."

Confirming the news to The Mirror, Amber said she was "a fan of the show for ages" and was "super-excited to be joining the Loose panel."
She went on to say: "Trust me, I’ll be giving my opinions on everything from cosmetic surgery to open relationships and blended families.”"
She is featuring on the show on Wednesday 14th August.
