EastEnders fans can you believe that Nicholas Bailey - aka Anthony Trueman - was only on our screens for three years? He sure did make an impact in our hearts.
He was mainly on the show from 2000 until 2003 and while he's made a few appearances since, he hasn’t been seen in the Square in a while. So just where is the soap star today? We've done some digging...

Nicholas is well known for his role in EastEnders but he actually bagged his first acting job in an episode of The Bill back in 1994.

He played Patrick Trueman’s (Rudolph Walker) son Anthony.
What happened to Anthony Trueman?
During his time in the Square, Anthony followed in the footsteps as the infamous Dan Sullivan by dating a mum and daughter - he dated Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and their relationship was often turbulent.
However, it was further strained when he started pursuing her daughter, Zoe Slater. He eventually chose Kat over Zoe and the latter ran away... only to return to find her mum in bed with her ex - awkward.
It doesn’t stop there though, as Anthony then got Kat pregnant. While Kat wanted an abortion, she was persuaded by Alfie Moon (Shane Ritchie), not to go through with it. But on the way to tell Anthony the news, she sadly had a miscarriage and he never found out about the baby.
They then broke up and after one of Anthony's pregnant patients died, he left Walford in 2003.
He's appeared on the show on/off since then but the last time viewers saw Anthony was in 2014 when he returned after Patrick had a stroke.
What happened to Paul and Anthony Trueman in EastEnders?
During their time in the Square, Anthony and Paul (Gary Beadle) discovered that Patrick wasn't Paul's biological dad and he had in fact adopted him when he was younger. The truth came out after Paul had a DNA test.
Not only that but before arriving in Walford, the brothers fell out after Anthony drove while drunk, crashed the car but Paul took the fall for it. Paul then used it to blackmail his brother for cash.
It all cames to blows when Paul died in 2005 after being killed by a hitman after getting involved in crime. Anthony briefly returned to the Square to attend his brother's funeral.
Did Zoe Slater marry Anthony Trueman?
Anthony and Zoe dated and got engaged but they didn't get married.
Is Nicholas Bailey returning to EastEnders?
It’s possible that we could see Anthony again because he told The Sun, “I would go back to EastEnders.
"The character is there and I never say never to anything. If they had a storyline and they had something for me to do then you never say never.
“The character has been good to me. I'd never say no. I would never say I’d never come back. It's a character that I love to play. They know where the phone is.”
