EastEnders cast: how much the soap’s stars can earn on Instagram

As the stars of one of the biggest soaps on TV, it’s no surprise that the EastEnders cast receive a pretty penny for appearing on the show. But there’s also another way for them to make money.

We’re, of course, talking about Instagram, which a whole host of telly stars use to make extra income outside of their day job.

It’s now been revealed how much the cast of EastEnders could earn on Instagram and it’s certainly not to be sniffed at…

The team at ICE36 have sourced the potential Instagram earnings of the popular EastEnders actors to reveal the highest-earning stars, so here’s a rundown of the top ten.

Having played Stacey on and off since 2004, Lacey Turner is one of EastEnders’ most popular cast members. She has almost half a million followers on Instagram so it’s no surprise that Lacey can potentially demand a hefty fee for a sponsored post, raking in an estimated £1,851 per post.

In second place is Jamie Borthwick, who plays Jay Brown and joined the cast of EastEnders when he was just 12 years old. Jamie’s been nominated for a number of awards over the years, taking home the gong for Best Dramatic Performance from a Young Actor or Actress at the British Soap Awards in 2008. He’s got an Instagram following of 322,000 and can earn an estimated £1,204 per for a sponsored post.

Completing the top three is an EastEnders legend: Natalie Cassidy, who plays the iconic Sonia Fowler. Joining the cast in 1993, when she was 10 years old, Natalie’s had three stints as Sonia and has also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and her own reality show, Natalie Cassidy: Becoming Mum. She returned to Albert Square in 2014 and has played Sonia ever since, with the character currently loved up with boyfriend Reiss Colwell. With just shy of 300,000 followers, Natalie commands an estimated fee of £1,062 for a sponsored Instagram post.

Although the EastEnders lot's Instagram earnings aren't to be sniffed at, they aren't the biggest earners on the social media platform. That honour actually goes to a Hollyoaks star, Jorgie May Porter.

She's potentially the highest overall earner of any British soap star, making an estimated £2,830 per post.
