It’s basically law that an EastEnders actor has to appear on Strictly every year, and this year it’s the turn of Bobby Brazier.
He only joined the BBC soap as Freddie Slater last year, but Bobby’s already made a name for himself in Soapland and is now set to take to the Strictly ballroom to compete for the Glitterball trophy.
However, this does mean that Bobby will need to step back from EastEnders for a while as he puts his all into training – and he’s already filmed his exit scenes.
“No, I’m taking a break. I’ve filmed it all,” Bobby recently told Closer online when asked if he’s still working on EastEnders while taking part in Strictly.
Bobby kept tight-lipped on the details of his exit, however, refusing to reveal the storyline that sees his depart Walford.
But he did let slip that he would eventually return to the soap and, honestly, thank goodness for that.
“I’m not telling you!” he said when asked about how he’ll be leaving Albert Square, but he added, “I’ll be back.”
As for what he’s looking forward to the most while taking part in Strictly, Bobby said, “The journey that I’m going to go on with my partner, and my friends now is going to be so beautiful.
“They’re going to see me at my best and my worst. And it’s a really sweet thing I think.”
Bobby’s character Freddie, the son of Little Mo Slater (Kacey Ainsworth) first appeared on EastEnders last year as he came to Albert Square looking for answers about the identity of his father.
He was left devastated when it came to light that he was conceived when his dad Graham Foster (Alex McSweeney) raped Little Mo.
Freddie’s other storylines have included his ADHD diagnosis and his friendship with Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell), which recently came under threat when Freddie slept with Bobby’s crush Anna Knight (Molly Rainford).
