She’s no stranger to plastic surgery, having gone under the knife for a number of procedures in the past, including two Brazilian bum lifts, breast enlargement followed by a reduction, and several rounds of liposuction. But Nikita Jasmine, who found fame on Married At First Sight in 2021, admits she’s sworn off cosmetic operations for good.
Looking back, she admits she became caught up in a quest for perfection. “I’ve had much pretty much everything done and went to Turkey three years in a row to lie on the operating table,” the 28-year-old tells Closer. “I always researched my surgery but now I realise how dangerous and life-threatening it can be. I’ve recently lost close family members, including my grandparents, and my dad has had life-saving surgery this year, so I’ve learned life is too short to take risks. I also want to be a mum so I would think seriously before meddling around with my body again. I can’t wait to carry a baby one day.”
The star – who had both of her Brazilian bum lift ops just seven months apart in 2018 and has also had a nose job – adds, “I hated my body growing up. I had a similar shape to my dad, with a pot belly, thick skin and a lot of fat. Even though I’d go to the gym, it would take years to shift, and I felt surgery would give me that push to have a better shape.”
She adds, “Within a couple of days after I started to heal from surgery and get my mojo back, I’d say to myself, ‘Well that was easy – I could do that again’. I was never 100 per cent content and I’d be looking at the next thing I could get done before I’d even left Turkey. So many surgery trends were coming in and out of fashion, it was easy
to just follow suit.”
What’s more, Nikita readily admits she was inspired by numerous celebrities, including ex-glamour model Katie Price when she decided to have her breasts enlarged, but her 34GG implants left her in excruciating pain. “My boobs were bigger than my head and felt like they were breaking my back,” she explains. “The top of my neck would dip, and I began to look like I had a hunchback. My posture was so bad, I couldn’t sit on a chair if it had no back support. They became saggy too, so two years later, I had an uplift and had them reduced to a DD.”
She’s got no plans to have any more surgery, and Nikita says she’s finally content with the way she looks. “People who’ve known me for years say I look unrecognisable now, but I am more confident with the way I look. My bum is in proportion, my boobs look more natural rather than stuck on and I no longer suffer with pain. There are trolls who will say I look ugly, but at least I’m an open book about what I’ve had done.”
Meanwhile, Nikita reveals she abstained from having sex for almost a year, up until two months ago, after deciding to “hold out for The One.” The star, who was coupled up with Ant Poole on Married At First Sight before they came to blows, is currently single and says, “I was celibate for 11 months and I’m proud of myself because that’s the longest I’ve gone. I came off Celebs Go Dating in August last year where I didn’t meet anyone, I was spending more time with my family, and it got to the point where I just couldn’t be bothered with men. I wasn’t flirting or having any kind of male interaction, and I genuinely wanted to wait and find The One.
“There were times when I felt lonely and wanted a cuddle, but I don’t want to be used for sex, so I didn’t cave in. I know where my boundaries are, and I’ve realised that you don’t have to be sleeping with someone to get through life. I put myself first and it was empowering.”
Though the star put an end to her abstinence back in July after a holiday romance in Marbella. “The wait was definitely worth it,” she laughs. “The first guy I ended up sleeping with completely swept me off my feet. We had a good time together, but then he turned out to be a compulsive liar.”
Despite having her heart broken, Nikita admits she’s still holding out for her fairy-tale ending and says she’s prepared to be “open-minded” about future partners. “I want marriage and kids, 110 per cent – I’d be devastated if I didn’t become a mum. I’m only 28, but I do feel pressure to settle down. I want two kids by the time I’m 33,” she says. “I used to be very picky on my type visually and had a track record for going for guys with veneers, tattoos and green eyes. I’ve realised now I need to broaden my horizons and focus on finding someone caring and supportive.”
