Ever wondered how Team GB drag themselves out of bed and get ready for a grueling early morning training session?
Louis Smith may have split from TOWIE starlet, Lucy Mecklenburgh, earlier this year, but he isn’t letting heartbreak affect his rather extreme morning routine.
The exceptional gymnast, who shot to fame as a silver medalist at the 2012 games, is encouraging people to start their day right to win a pair of tickets to the Olympic Games with this incredible video that gives us some insight into a morning at the Smith household.
And it involves a lot of somersaults and pommel horse practice...
“Competing at the Olympic Games takes a lot of preparation and having a positive wake up routine has really helped me to reach peak performance over the years and reach my full potential,” the 27-year-old Olympian said.
So what’s the big secret behind his success?
Although most of us won’t be able to walk down the stairs on our hands, flip onto the sofa or do press-ups on the kitchen counter, Louis does have some really great advice for anyone hoping to make sure that they are fully prepared for whatever the day ahead throws at them.
“I love to get off to an energetic start in the morning as I find this sets me up for the day ahead,” he says.
“With such an active lifestyle, I need a filling breakfast to keep my body fueled throughout the day,”
However, the athlete does warn that eating breakfast whilst doing the splits is not for everyone.
Thank goodness for that!
