Antiques Roadshow cameraman and boyfriend of Zoë Ball Billy Yates has been found dead in his London home
Zoë Ball's boyfriend Billy Yates has been found dead at his home in London.
Police were called to the Antiques Roadshow cameraman's home in Putney in South London yesterday evening at around 6:40pm.
The Radio 2 DJ is of course completely devastated by the death of her boyfriend, who she said only on Tuesday had given her a "new lease of life" and said she was having the "best year of her life" with him.
Zoë has not publicly commented on the death of her boyfriend, except two social media posts - the first of which was a beautiful photo of a pink flower, which is possibly a Camellia, alongside the caption: "My sweet love."
This may seem a confusing choice on the surface, but Camellia flowers traditionally symbolise young love, or an expression of love and devotion.
Oh Zoë :(
The second post was to retweet a photo that the charity Samaritans had posted to commemorate "Star Wars Day" yesterday - a lightsaber in the shape of a heart, alongside the thoughtful caption: "If it really doesn't feel like the force is with you today, we're here and ready to listen #TalkToUs 116123 #MayTheFourthBeWithYou."
A source close to Zoë spoke to The Sun, saying: "She is completely and utterly devastated. Billy had made her happy again after the most horrendous year when her marriage broke down.
"This was completely out of the blue. She had no feeling that this was coming and is in total shock."
Whilst the cause of Billy's death has not yet been released, police have confirmed that his death is not being treated as suspicious.
Our thoughts are with Zoë and Billy's family at this terrible time. ❤️
