In news we definitely did not expect to be bringing you, Phillip Schofield has reportedly landed a very lucrative two-album record deal with Warner Music.
According to* The Sun, the This Morning* host hopes to have the same success as Bradley Walsh, whose debut album Chasing Dreams was the best-selling British album of 2016.
Phillip showcased his sining talent when he made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Takeaway a couple of weeks ago. Alongside Ant McPartlin, Dec Donnelly and James Corden, Philip starred in a medley of musical classics to pay tribute to Lord Andrew Webber on his 70th birthday.
Phillip wowed viewers with his rendition of Any Dream Will Do as he reprised his role as Joseph from the musical .Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - a part he formerly played on stage.
“It’s easy to forget he was in Joseph years ago," a source told the publication.
"His cameo got people talking again. Warner wants to tap into that interest.
“His deal is for one album this year and one next. Execs hope he might have the same kind of success as Bradley Walsh.”
Hmm. As much as we'd LOVE to hear more of Schofe's singing voice, we can't help but feel the timing of this announcement is a little bit suspicious, given today is April Fools' Day.
