Vicky Pattison has described her recent health scare as a “wake-up call” after she was rushed to hospital last week. The reality star, 36, went into A&E feeling scared when she “physically couldn’t move”, leaving fans worried.
Celeb pals also expressed concern, with former BB star Kate Lawler posting, “You poor thing, I hope you’re feeling better ASAP”, while Love Island’s Faye Winter remarked, “Oh angel! Sending love”.
Vicky later shared an update on her Instagram, with photos taken in hospital. “Definitely not the weekend I was intending on having. After around 36 hours, about six bags of fluid, three of antibiotics and an untold amount of pain relief, we’re starting to get to the bottom of things. They think it’s glandular fever, a big infection and an abscess in my throat.”
She explained that her hectic schedule may have contributed to her condition, saying, “I didn’t allow myself any recovery time after Covid and it’s just compromised my immune system, I suppose – I haven’t allowed myself any downtime this year.” She added, “I’m feeling drained, overwhelmed, can’t sleep at night for anxiety,” and described being hospitalised as “the wake-up call that I needed”.
It comes just two months before her wedding to fiancé Ercan Ramadan, 30. The couple, who have been dating since 2019 and got engaged in 2022, are set to tie the knot in Puglia, Italy, which will be filmed for a two-part E4 special.
She recently returned from her hen do in Mykonos, following a joint stag and hen party with Ercan in Dubai and has been juggling wedding planning with work and travelling.
After being discharged, she posted pictures while recovering at home with Ercan and their dogs, adding. “I’m super-happy to be home, back to my boys and my bed. I’m already beginning to feel more like myself.”
