Former EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite is currently loved up with a toyboy beau more than 20 years her junior but says that her two daughters are less than thrilled at the prospect of impending matrimony.

Tamzin is mum to Florence, 12, and Marnie, eight, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Ellis, and admits that they would “absolutely hate it” if she were to marry again.

"My daughters were excited by him moving in, but they wouldn’t like us to get married,” she said of 29-year-old Tom Childs, who she met at a yoga studio three years ago.

“They always say, ‘You two are not getting married’. They don’t like the idea of it, but that’s fine because we’re not desperate to do it.

“I feel like I’ve done it so I’m not that bothered really."

Well, that sure told them.

Tamzin, who played Mel Healy in the soap from 1998 – 2002 before making a return from 2018-2019, told The Sun that having a partner at a different life stage to her was “liberating”.

She went on to say, "If it ever did become a problem in the future that would be a different thing, but we try and live in the now, and enjoy it, because as I’ve always said, I might get hit by a bus tomorrow."

It’s a far cry from Tamzin’s thoughts just a year ago when she said she would be open to another marriage, despite the breakdown of her first in 2013 when Tom Ellis had an affair with his Once Upon A Time co-star Emilie de Ravin.

"I'm not a scorned woman. I'm ridiculously happy and my marriage ended a very long time ago,” she said in 2019. “I'm not closed off to the idea of marrying again, even though it didn't end perfectly last time.”
