Actress Tamzin Outhwaite opens up to this week’s Closer magazine about her struggle to raise two young daughters on her own and how her close-knit group of showbiz pals are a constant support.

She may appear to live a glamorous showbiz life, partying with Spice Girls pals Mel C and Emma Bunton, as well as presenters Denise Van Outen and Myleene Klass – but Tamzin admits it’s not all glitz and glamour.

In a rare candid moment, the 45-year-old actress tells Closer that juggling her career with life as single mum to Florence, eight, and Marnie, four – her daughters with her actor ex-husband Tom Ellis – is tough.

Tamzin and Tom’s seven year marriage ended abruptly in 2013 when Marnie was just 13 months old, after it emerged Tom had been unfaithful whilst working in America.

Tom has since relocated to Canada – where he films TV show Lucifer - leaving Tamzin with a support network in the UK.

The former EastEnders star says: “I have amazing support around me, but being a single mum is hard – and their dad is away filming for ten months of the year. He’s back at Christmas and is pretty hands-on when he’s here, but it’s a long time for the kids to not see him and they do struggle.”
