Tamara Ecclestone also revealed she waited outside her daughter's nursery for three hours on her first day
Since becoming a mum Tamara Ecclestone has been very open about her parenting techniques which includes posting photos of herself breastfeeding her daughter Sophia. Now, the yummy mummy has opened up on her three-year-old daughter sleeping in her marital bed and has admitted her husband is "totally on-board" with co-sleeping.
The mum-of-one appeared on This Morning and spoke about the reason her daughter has slept in her bed for the past two and a half years. Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, she explained: "She slept next to my bed when she was born for the first six months and then she had some injections and she got a bit of fever so it was just for one night, she was sleeping in bed with me and I was feeding her throughout the night.
"That one night just turned into here we are, two and a half years later. She's never had a cot or a toddler bed or anything."
The daughter of Formula One billionaire Bernie Ecclestone went on to reveal that she puts her daughter to bed at around 6pm and puts lots of pillows around the bed to prevent her daughter from injuring herself.
If you're wondering whether co-sleeping affects Tamara and her husband Jay Rutland's love life, she reassured Holly and Phil that they've had no problems in that department.
"It makes you more creative and inventive with the love life. He's actually totally on-board with it," she confessed.
Tamara went on to reveal that she feels "lucky" that both herself and Jay's number one priority is their daughter and that her 36-year-old husband isn't "fighting for attention or feeling put out."
The model – who hasn't been separated from her daughter for no longer than six and a half minutes – also admitted that she struggled with Sophia's first day at nursery and ended up sitting in the car outside for three hours.
Recalling that incident, she said: "Part of me was so proud, I was like this is amazing and the other part of me was like I can't believe it. It was sad for me."
Tamara may deal with a lot of criticism from online trolls but that hasn't stopped her from being a wonderful mother and since welcoming her little girl into the world, she admitted she feel's that being a mother is "who I was meant to be."
She added: "I feel like everything before Sofia was the warm up and this is the happiest I've ever been."
