Shirley Ballas has revealed that she is on a drip to help her perk up after falling ill. In an Instagram post she told her fans that she has had a ‘tough week’ and has been put on a drip to help her feel well enough to judge Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend.

Shirley was supposed to attend the Global Gift Gala, but instead spent the evening hooked up to an intravenous drip.

In an Instagram video, she said, "I have a drip here that is going into my arm with all the good vitamins and B12 and magnesium and everything else."

She enlisted the help of Reviv, who provide IV therapies and vitamin injections to help their clients feel energised and refreshed. The treatment she received is called 'Ultraviv' and aims to speed up recovery from colds and the flu.

Shirley told her fans that she was getting sick, and added, "Hopefully we’ll be right as rain by Saturday."

The 59-year-old received death threats this week after sending DJ Dev Griffin home on Strictly Come Dancing.

Dev’s professional partner Dianne Buswell was forced to beg fans on Twitter to stop bullying Shirley by sending her abusive tweets.

Dianne said, "It’s awful and really upsets me to hear this. It’s simply not ok and should never happen!"

Dianne burst into tears on Strictly when she found out her and Dev were being sent home.

This prompted an emotional response from their fans, with one saying, "She is such an inspiration to me and I wouldn’t be dancing today if it wasn’t for her. Wish I could just give them a hug."

Shirley is still due to appear on Strictly this weekend. Let’s hope she gets well soon as Bruno Tonioli has already said he will not be judging due to work commitments in the US.
