Sophie Kasaei caused controversy earlier this year after punching her Geordie Shore co-star Sam Gowland in the face
When news emerged of the altercation, there were rumours swirling that Sophie, who has appeared on the show on and off since the very first episode, could be sacked.
But, speaking exclusively to Closer Online, Sophie has hit back at these claims.
"You’ve got to remember it is Geordie Shore. How many fights have happened in Geordie Shore?", Sophie told us. "Marnie and Charlotte had brawls, all the girls were fighting. There’s a big thing about me being sacked. That’s obviously not correct or I wouldn’t be here."
"It’s one of them things. You do have an argument, you do have to be punished. I got a drinking ban, and I was really sorry for it. It really affected my life when I was on a drinking ban."
So that clears that up, then.

Sophie recently opened up about the fight to The Sun, admitting the she 'regretted' her actions.
She said: “I got so irate and I snapped and obviously I regret it.
“I'm very protective over Chloe though she's like my little sister. I was angry because he was upsetting her and I thought she deserved better. He said I was just jealous and I totally lost it."

Sophie Kasaei, Nathan Henry, Chloe Ferry, Sam Gowland and Abbie Holborn are joined by newbie Faith Mullen for the series - and the cast will be visited by some OG favourites from seasons past.
