Simon, 54, whose girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 36, gave birth to Eric last week, has also hired a £200,000-a-year nanny for his son.

A source told a UK newspaper: “Simon has hired a top £200,000-a-year nanny from an exclusive Manhattan agency who they interviewed rigorously before selecting.

“She will live with him and Lauren and jet back and forth to London in his private jet or in first class. She will also have a wardrobe allowance.”

Simon, who has been sharing adorable snaps of baby Eric on Twitter, has been glued to his son’s side but is making preparations for when he has to return to work.

The source continued: “So far Simon has barely left his son’s side but he knows he will soon be back at work full time and while Lauren is a hands-on mum he’smade it clear that no expense will be spared to get the best help possible.”

It seems that having Eric has changed Simon’s mind about having children altogether. A friend close to the Britain’s Got Talent judge said: “Simon never wanted children originally but having Eric has made him the ‘broodiest dad alive’ as he said shortly after the birth.

“He’s been joking he want’s ‘a dozen mini-Simons’ and he can’t wait to have another child.”

Simon’s fellow BGT judge Amanda Holden, 43, recently said that she thinks parenthood has hit Simon in a way that he didn’t think it would.

She said: “I don’t think he realised how much he was going to utterly love that child. That’s what’s going to destroy him. The fact that you would love him that much is devastating.”
