Sam Faiers has opened up on breastfeeding her son Paul live on This Morning
Former TOWIE star Sam Faiers was praised after breastfeeding her son Paul live on television but now she's admitted she received surprising comments following her interview.
Last year Sam appeared on This Morning to discuss The Mummy Diaries but at the beginning of her appearance she was breastfeeding her son Paul because he was hungry. In the past Sam has faced criticism for posting photos of herself breastfeeding on Snapchat but fans praised the yummy mummy for breastfeeding her little one on TV.
The reality star previously opened up to Closer Online and admitted she didn't see breastfeeding on television as a big deal: "I just think if it’s your baby you feed them.
"It’s the same as a bottle for a baby, if they need feeding their mum gets the bottle out and feeds them."
Now, Sam has revealed some people were sceptical about her breastfeeding her son on television. She told the Daily Star: "I got praised a lot for it but a few people thought I did it for publicity."
The 26-year-old mum added: You cannot plan a breastfed baby's meal. You just can't. They feed on demand – when they smell milk, they want milk."
The mum-of-one who was praised for making breast milk ice lollies for her little one has helped her older sister Billie Faiers breastfeed her son Arthur.
Sam told the publication she's "always wanted to breastfeed" and although it can be difficult with sleep deprivation "it ends up being so much easier than steaming bottles."
Billie thanked her "breastfeeding guru" sister who managed to give her some tips. She explained to OK! magazine: "Sam knows all the tricks so she’s really been there to encourage me to stick with it. I’m not putting any pressure on myself, I’m just taking it each day at a time."
