Russell Brand will be stepping back into the limelight briefly this weekend to talk about how he is preparing for his first child.
The comedian decided to take a break from the media world last year when his YouTube videos came under fire from the press, causing him to take a break in order to spend some time “learning”.
However, the 41-year-old will be appearing on TV over the weekend alongside his good friend, Jonathan Ross, to talk all about what he is expecting from fatherhood.
Russell is expecting his first child with fiancé, Laura Gallacher, and announced the news on Instagram in July.
“Right then. My mum bought me this. Time to get ready! #trewlit #bookstagram #parenting” he wrote.
During his appearance on The Jonathan Ross show, which will air on Saturday, Russell said: “I read a different book every week and I read one on preparing for fatherhood to mentally prepare me for it."
He continued: "We don't know the gender. I may not even ever impose a gender upon it, let the child grow up and be whatever the hell it is, never tell it there is such a concept,"
The political activist also spoke about how he proposed to Laura, and joked that it was such a beautiful moment that he cried at how nicely he had organised it!
“I properly planned it and put proper ideas into it and made it all nice and did like a surprise party for her and her mum helped me to organise it, get her on side!” he laughed.
We’re very pleased for the couple and wish them all the best for the future!
