Celebrity Big Brother star Roxanne Pallett has spoken about the aftermath of her ‘punchgate’ scandal with fellow housemate Ryan Thomas in a new interview, revealing that she considered suicide after the backlash she received.
Former Emmerdale actress Roxanne quit the CBB house in shame last year after falsely accusing Ryan of ‘deliberately’ hitting her.
She later admitted she was wrong and apologised for her actions.
In an appearance on Channel 5’s The Jeremy Vine Show yesterday (13th September), Roxanne discussed the ordeal and when asked if she considered taking her own life following the scandal, she replied: “Yes.”
She said: “Looking back at those clips it's awful. It was a really awful time for a lot of people.
“It's only now that I watch those back that I realise how far I've come and what a bad place I was in.
“I never want be that person again. I never want to react like a situation like that.
“If I can do anything now it's to make sure no one else does makes the same mistakes I have. Because it can happen to anyone, and it happened to me.”

Back in June, Roxanne explained the circumstances that led to her falsely accusing Coronation Street actor Ryan in an exclusive interview with Closer.
“I absolutely regret what happened on the show, one hundred per cent. I got it monumentally wrong, and I’m sorry to Ryan and his family, for the pain I inflicted on him and others who were watching,” she said.
Speaking of the aftermath of the scandal, she added: “All my insecurities were heightened. I had feelings of paranoia, and feared something bad would happen to me. When the phone rang, I’d feel sick. If I passed someone on the street, I was convinced they meant me harm."
“I was told that people were saying they wanted to throw acid in my face and that I was more hated than a murderer.
“I’d been advised not to read what had been said at the beginning, but I couldn’t wrap myself in cotton wool. One night, I read everything, and I completely broke down."
