Rhey’ve endured a turbulent year with the explosive Wagatha Christie trial. But insiders say Becky and Jamie Vardy are in a brilliant place – so much so that they’re planning on renewing their vows.
An insider tells Closer, “Rebekah wants to plan something that can also help repair her public image, which is why she wants to celebrate in style when they celebrate their 7th wedding anniversary in May. She is desperate to have something happy to look forward to.”
Rebekah, 40, met Jamie, 35, in 2014 when she was working at Viper nightclub in Sheffield and was a single parent to Megan, now 17, and Taylor, 12, from previous relationships. Becky and Jamie, who is also dad to Ella, 11, tied the knot in 2016 and have three children together – Sofia, eight, Finley, who is almost six, and three-year-old Olivia.
But their happiness was rocked in 2019 when the Wagatha saga kicked off, which saw fellow WAG Coleen Rooney accuse Becky of leaking stories about her to the press – a claim which Becky strongly denied, but was found to be “substantially true” when it went to court. Jamie showed his support by joining her at the trial and denied Wayne Rooney’s claim that they had an “awkward” chat about his wife during the 2016 Euros.
In recent months the couple have put on a united front on social media, with Becky sharing a string of happy family snaps from the Christmas period.
The insider adds, “Becky doesn’t want to play a victim or a villain – just someone who is moving on with her life.”
