Peter Andre has cancelled his Greatest Hits tour in Australia, reportedly because ticket sales were too low.
The Mysterious Girl warbler was due to head Down Under to perform several shows before moving on to New Zealand but has cancelled all seven dates.
The pop star, who has not had a gig in Oz for 20 years, heavily promoted the tour but organisers had hoped tickets would sell better, according to Australia’s Daily Telegraph.
Fans have been told there are “scheduling difficulties” and there is currently no news on if the concerts will happen at another time.
However, a representative for the star insists there is another reason for the cancellation of the shows, telling the Daily Mirror: “Pete’s tour has been postponed until 2018 due to filming commitments being behind schedule in the UK.”
Peter, who saw his star rise again with a foray into reality television with former partner Katie Price after they met on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, is currently presenting interior design series Peter Andre’s 60 Minute Makeover.
He announced his tour earlier this year but may have left some fans disappointed after insisting he would not whip out his famous torso, which he liked to do during his nineties heyday.
Pete told News Corp at the time: “The last thing I’d want to do now is take my shirt off.
“The nineties - they were the days. My videos were actually banned in a lot of countries because of the toplessness.
“I still work out, I train, I keep trim, but the six-pack will never be like it was in my 20s.”
