Peter Andre has felt the wrath of nursery workers after blasting their workplaces over government plans.

The Mysterious Girl singer believes it’s a “crime” that some nurseries will not honour the government’s wish for a set amount of free childcare per week.

“A survey has found that one in five nurseries in England don’t plan to offer the government’s proposed 30 free hours of childcare each week, according to the National Day Nurseries Association,” he wrote in his new! column.

“I absolutely do not agree with this! What about the thousands of parents out there who need and depend on it? If the government is offering it, every nursery should honour it.”

The former reality star’s view angered some childcare workers, with some taking to Twitter to vent at him.

One person asked: “Did you do any research before writing your comments about the 30 hours nursery places?”

Someone else remarked: “Oh you’re angered so many people with your views and comments on the 30 hours ‘free’ funding in childcare.”

And another person wrote: “A nursery crime? If the government are offering it, the government should honour the nurses charges!”

Peter hit back saying he hopes MPs will become aware of the issue now some attention has been brought.

He tweeted: “Well if that’s the case them hopefully the government will start paying attention and fund more.

“I based my opinions on the facts I was given and I wasn’t told that the governments funding is low so hopefully this new attention drawn to it can make some difference.”
