We rarely see a celebrity as brutally honest as Nicole Scherzinger, and now the star has come forward and admitted that in chasing her dream to be a successful recording artist, she has had to make some very personal sacrifices.
The 38-year-old singer, who first came into the public eye 12 years ago as one of the Pussycat Dolls, has recently rejoined The X Factor to mentor other talented vocalists to become the next big thing.
But according to Nicole, there is a price to pay if you choose to focus all your energy on chasing your dreams.
Talking to the Sunday Mirror, she said: “I’m not married and I ain’t got no kids yet. Of course work has come at a sacrifice. I’ve missed out on life,”
The star, who was dating Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton for seven years, is now in a happy relationship with tennis superstar, Grigor Dimitrov.
But Nicole was adamant that the things she has put on hold to get to the top will come eventually.
“It’s a sacrifice when you put your heart into a job. Relationships suffer,” she said.
“I see a vision of what I want as an artist … now I’m going to the top of that mountain. When I get there, then I’ll have time for a family, and kids.”
Although she was initially due to play the lead in broadway musical, Cats, Nicole is mentoring the boys on this year’s talent show and has spoken about how happy she is to be back on The X Factor.
We’re happy you’re back too, Nicole!
