It’s been nearly a month since her shock split from fiancé Tommy Fury, but last week Molly-Mae Hague was pictured out and about looking happy and healthy.
And of her more cheery appearance, sources tell Closer that the former Love Island star – who has amassed a whopping £6.5 million fortune since rising to fame in 2019 – has been burying herself in her work and is channelling her heartbreak into a new mission to conquer the US.
A source says, ‘Molly’s had her sights set on cracking America for a long time to launch her tanning line, Filter, to the US market.
‘She’s been feeling really suffocated in the UK with all the media attention surrounding the break-up, and she’s told pals a stint in LA is the perfect opportunity to get away and clear her head while she takes her business – and profile – to the next level.’
Last month, Molly announced her split from Tommy, 25 – with whom she shares one-year-old daughter Bambi – in a cryptic Instagram Story, and rumours have since emerged that the boxer may have been unfaithful on a night out in Macedonia. He’s denied the claims.
As well as her and Tommy building a brand together, Molly has carved out a lucrative career on her own. She’s a millionaire in her own right, with her own beauty brand, Filter, and took on an impressive role as PLT’s creative director in 2019. And earlier this year she also signed a seven-figure deal to become the face of L’Oréal alongside Hollywood stars Eva Longoria and Kendall Jenner.
She spent time in LA back in 2022, when she went with Tommy, and described her time there as ‘insane’.
And now insiders add that Molly – who was recently granted a US trademark for Filter – is keen to spend more time there and expand her business,
The source says, ‘There’s a huge buzz around her right now, which was accelerated since bagging her L’Oréal deal, and Molly wants to strike while the iron’s hot and shift her focus to something positive as she starts to re-build her life.’
