The first Strictly Come Dancing star has been confirmed
It's almost time for Strictly Come Dancing to return to our screens and we're so excited as the first celebrity has been announced – Mollie King.
It was previously reported that The Saturdays star was taking part in the dancing contest. At the time, a source told The Sun: "She’s a talented performer because of all her experience with The Saturdays and her solo career — so she’s someone who is very likely to make it to the final rounds.
"Producers loved the sex appeal and performance skills of Daisy last year and believe Mollie offers the same."

Now, Mollie has confirmed the exciting news on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show and has said: "I'm a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing so I can't actually believe I'm lucky enough to be taking part in it this year!
"I'm literally so excited to learn Latin and ballroom dancing, and of course I can’t wait to get into the sequins too!
"It’s going to be a lot of hard work but I'm ready for the challenge!"
Eek!
The 30-year-old singer proved just how competitive she is when she explained the reason she's joining Strictly: "It's something that I always said I wanted to do. I've always watched it with my family and it looks so fun.
"I'm going to be giving it my all. I'm very competitive so watch out, other contestants, I'm taking you down!"
Mollie is following in the footsteps of her former bandmate Frankie Bridge who took part in the BBC 1 show back in 2014 and came second place. With any luck, Mollie might be the first Saturdays member to win the show.
We are SO excited for the show to return!
