Megan Barton Hanson gives the ultimate lesson in how to handle a break up
Love Island fans were left devastated over the weekend, when Megan Barton Hanson and Wes Nelson announced their split after six months of dating. But - rather than wrapping up in a duvet and sitting on the couch for 48 hours with a tub of Ben & Jerry's Half Baked - the former couple are handling things very positively. In fact, they are both so fine about the breakup that Megan attended Dancing on Ice to watch her ex watch perform his routine!
We always knew that Megan and Wes were super cool, but some fans were still left confused by Meg's decision to sit in the audience after breaking up just one day before.
On viewer wrote: "EH thought Wes and Megan had split up and now she’s in the audience on dancing on ice??"
Another turned detective, adding: "100% think the Megan and Wes break up is just a publicity stunt #DancingOnIce"
And a third joked: "If Wes is performing and Megan's still in the audience then who's looking after the hamster? #dancingonice"
The hilarious hamster comment referenced the joint statement shared by the pair on Saturday, which read: "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well under a year, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.
"We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to one incredibly wonderful hamster and we ask for his and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
"We haven’t really conducted our relationship that privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.
"Love, Megan & Wes."
Megan later shared a more serious statement, writing: "In all seriousness, I am so grateful and so blessed to have found Wes, I will always love and adore him and I am so lucky to call him my best friend, it has been an incredibly hard decision to make for both of us but we are both looking forward to moving on together and supporting each other in everything we do.
"I will be down at dancing on ice tomorrow to watch him smash it again. Only one thing left to say come on Wes and Vanessa."
Although many fans are convinced it's all a big publicity stunt, maybe Megan and Wes just deeply care for each other and want to remain friends without any drama?

Megan and Wes first met on Love Island 2018, with a very controversial start to their relationship. Megan turned Wes' head, which led him to dump Laura Anderson and persue Meg. But it looked like they were the real deal! We've loved seeing their relationship blossim over the last six months.
