McVitie’s have released their first Christmas advert in thirty years with a selection of cute animals.
The £1m Christmas campaign is for its Victoria biscuit selection and premieres tonight on E4.

In a bid to stand out, from the flood of Christmas ads, McVities have enlisted 11 cute animals for their 1 minute advert; including a pug, a Persian kitten, a fluffy duck and rabbit, a micro-piglet, an Alaskan Malamute, a ginger kitten, a hedgehog and a reindeer.
The animals emerge from the biscuit box singing a rendition of Yazoo’s 80s hit Only You.
United Biscuits Sweet Biscuits marketing director, Sarah Heynen, said the decision to hold off launching the campaign until December was a “strategic” decision, both to see better cut-through and to tap into consumer biscuit buying habits.

“It [the advert] is very distinctive to anything else that’s out there, and going slightly later than John Lewis and Marks & Spencer, I think we will really stand out from the crowd,” added Heynen.
“For us biscuit sales really ramp up in the two to three weeks before Christmas so it makes sense to line up our media activity with the thrust of when consumers buy.”
Remember their Chocolate Digestive Kittens advert? You thought that was cute right? Well wait till you see this one. It quite simply trumps it.
