Mark Wright made a shocking discovery about his family tree – in front of the whole nation

Mark and his wife Michelle Keegan both appeared on the sixteenth series of Bafta winning Who Do You Think You Are, and unearthed some suprising history.

But while Michelle discovered direct links to original suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst (which is AMAZING, if you ask us), Marks lineage was a little less impressive.

Mark and Michelle first met on holiday in Dubai at the end of 2012, and reportedly fell in love immediately. It was only a matter of days before they met up back in the UK for their first date.

Tracing his roots back to Eastern Europe and the Romany traveler community, Mark learned there was a murderer among his ancestors, with a TV source telling the Sun, After the amazing discoveries that Michelle had during her appearance on the show, Mark was hoping for similar results.

“They followed his family history all the way back and traced his roots to Eastern Europe and the travelling community.

“But it was the fact that he had a villainous relative who had committed murder that shocked him. It’s quite an upsetting discovery to uncover.”

After a tumultuous few years, with their marriage dogged by split rumours, Mark is finally relocating back to Blighty to be with his wife, ending his glamorous LA career.

“Mark has asked to leave EXTRA in the USA, as he wants to return to the UK and be with Michelle,” a source told the Sun earlier this year.

“He is also hosting The Bachelor here next year, and has other UK TV offers which he can’t do if he stays at EXTRA."
