They seemingly had a blast while spending time travelling around Australia together over the summer – but Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright are now apart again, after he returned to the UK and the actress continued filming her latest project.
The former Coronation Street actress, 35, has been filming in Australia since May and TOWIE star turned presenter Mark, 35, went out to join her for a month’s stay over the summer.
Since returning to the UK at the beginning of September, Mark has been spending time with his two baby nephews – Presley, whose mum is Mark’s sister Jess, and Joshua, whose dad is Mark’s brother – also called Joshua.
Now insiders say that the combination of his recent travelling adventures and his broodiness have inspired Mark to suggest some future plans to Michelle.
Our insider says, “Mark has suggested that they could still enjoy travelling to far-flung places after they start a family, like many big celebs do when they’re on the road touring! He’s keen that Michelle doesn’t have to put her career on hold for babies. He’s feeling broodier than ever right now, however Michelle worries about the juggle of it all. Even with extra help, she’s unsure if she could give her career her full concentration.
“[Mark] has brought up the fact that there have been so many successful celebrities who’ve had babies and still managed to stay at the top of their careers. They could hire the best help possible and travel around the world if they needed to.”
The couple first met in 2012 – a year after Mark called it quits on his 10-year relationship with fellow TOWIE star Lauren Goodger, 36 – before tying the knot in a fairy-tale wedding three years later. Over the past few years, the couple have also been creating a stunning £3.5m Essex mansion, with the planning permission revealing they’ve included a nursery in it.
And Brassic star Michelle has been defensive over the years, saying that she hates constantly being asked when she’ll get pregnant.
The source adds, “Michelle feels torn, because what Mark is suggesting is not how she envisioned motherhood would be. She doesn’t necessarily want to be a ‘hands-off’ mother and is scared of feeling regret that she rushed things. They’ve also just finished their amazing new home, so that would be an issue too.
“She can really sense that Mark is getting frustrated – he has been so patient over the years, but seeing his family members have babies just makes him want that for himself – and he is clearly looking into all the ways they can make it happen.”
