Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has set the rumour mill to overdrive after posting a snap that many have taken to mean that she is now engaged.
The 21-year-old actress, who plays Bethany Platt on ITV soap, received hundreds of congratulatory messages from fans who believe she is set to wed following her latest Instagram post.
Originally she had captioned the photo: "I would never ask ANYONE else to be my ‘plus one’. My beautiful cousin, my best friend (and my maid of honour) or my beautiful boyfriend (my 'to be husband!)- so this pic chose it xxxx."
However, shortly after she started getting lots of messages about whether or not she was engaged, Lucy edited the caption - deleting the 'to be husband' reference about her boyfriend, Tom.
Lucy's fans were quick to wish the couple luck, with one saying: "Omg congrats I’m so happy for u... I can’t wait to see u in a wedding dress!!"
Another of her 240,000 Instagram followers said: "Omg so cute!! Congrats on being engaged bby."
Lucy previously told OK magazine: "I know we'll get married and have babies together."
Tom added: "She keeps sending me pictures of rings that she likes."
But according to The Sun, the couple aren't engaged - it's all part of a joke that they share together. The couple, who have been in a relationship for two years, bought a home together this year and also share a pet dog.
And it doesn't look like an engagement is being added to the mix - well, not yet anyway!
