Megan Barton-Hanson has shared the difficulties of her and Wes Nelson’s relationship since they left the Love Island villa in July
Speaking to the Mirror at the Animal Hero Awards, she explained that the issues come as the pair spend such little time together - especially compared to being with one another 24/7 in the villa.
She said: “You have struggles because you’re barely together, and then when we are it’s two hours here, three hours there, and then he’s running away to do a PA” [public appearance].
Megan added that they were “honest with each other”, and for that reason are able to see what the relationship needs.
“It's difficult, but I think we’re very honest with each other. When we feel like we need to spend more time with each other, we’ll do it.”

The glamour model has been the victim of trolling online, with individuals sharing pre-surgery images of her and making comments on the changes in her appearance.
Despite expecting some backlash before going on the show, the level of cruelty Megan has experienced has shocked her.
"When you're going into that kind of show you know that there's going to be negative press. I'm not going to lie, it was a lot worse than I'd originally anticipated and people are so brutal."

Another thing Megan has been particularly targeted by is her openness about discussing sex.
“The fact that I’m a woman and I like sex… it’s 2018 and I don’t think we should be looked down on because we enjoy sex as much as men.”
