Louise Redknapp was spotted looking more in love than ever this week with boyfriend Drew Michael, as the two soaked up the sun on a Greek island – with pals revealing there could soon be wedding bells for the pair.
And Louise’s sons, Charley, 19, and Beau, 15, who she shares with ex-husband Jamie, 51, have reportedly given their blessing and approve of their mum’s man.
A source says, ‘After splitting from Jamie and getting used to being on her own, Louise honestly thought she might be single forever – so meeting him has been one of the best things that has happened to her. She feels so comfortable with him, and all her friends and family approve, especially the boys. Both Charley and Beau are thrilled that their mum is so happy and they get on with Drew. They’re both busy leading their own lives now but have always been protective of their mum, so it’s nice that Drew is there for her.’
Fans of the 49-year-old former Eternal singer were shocked when she and Jamie divorced after almost 20 years of marriage back in 2017. At the time, Louise said that she’d grown tired of being a ‘Stepford wife’ adding, ‘I wanted kids so much, I was happy to put everything on hold for them… Standing by and watching Jamie become this entertainment star was pretty hard.’
While Louise remained single for six years, Jamie married Swedish model Frida Andersson, 41, in October 2021, and the couple welcomed son Raphael, three, a month later. In the past, Louise has opened up about how hard this was on the sons she shares with Jamie, saying, ‘My boys’ lives changed dramatically and then it changed again when obviously Jamie got married and had a family.’
But Louise found love again late last year when she was spotted with CEO and former military officer, Drew, 40. Since then, the couple have made appearances at events, attended parties arm-in-arm and enjoyed lavish holidays, with both appearing happier than ever in their relationship.
Of her new romance, the former Strictly star previously said, ‘It’s been a really long time for me. It’s lovely to have met somebody that makes me so happy’. And a source close to her revealed that she’s hoping to tie the knot with Drew.
The insider reveals to Closer, ‘There has been a lot of talk of them getting engaged and married, and with Louise turning 50 in November, everyone is expecting a proposal quite soon. They’re very happy together and the only way is up.’
